Oreo fudge
Oreo fudge is a scrumptiously sweet white chocolate fudge with added Oreo pieces. With only 3 ingredients it couldn’t be simpler to make or more delicious.
Oreo fudge is a simple yet delicious white chocolate treat with added Oreo pieces. I love simple no bake/no boil fudges and this is no exception. With only 3 ingredients, it’s so easy to make, its perfect for kids to help with.
You can make it all year round but it’s a great way of getting your kids busy in the kitchen during the festive season. If you pop the fudge into individual gift bags you can then give it as a lovely homemade gift to friends and family.
I love making fudge using the easy no-boil method. Condensed milk fudge is a much easier and much safer way of making fudge as there’s no need to heat or boil it to a certain temperature. This means it’s a lot safer for children to get involved with (I don’t think boiling sugar and kids are a great mix). It’s also a more fool proof way of making fudge – there’s no worry about getting it to set properly.
How can kids help to make Oreo fudge?
Homemade fudge using this no-boil method is really simple, which makes it a great treat for kids to help with. In fact, it’s so easy older children, as long as you can trust them around a hot cooker, can make the whole thing themselves.
Once your kids have measured out and broken up the chocolate they can melt it together with the condensed milk. Melting and mixing the fudge all together perhaps isn’t the best job for very young children or toddlers but older children who can be trusted to be safe around a hot pan can help with this job.
Younger children can help break up the Oreos and stir them into the fudge.
Finally, your kids can help pour the fudge into the tin and spread it all out and then help to decorate it with sprinkles if you’re using them.
Can you make fudge in a microwave?
Yes. You can make this fudge in a microwave if you have one. I prefer to use a double boiler as I can heat everything very gently in it and see it all come together, but it’ll work in a microwave just as well.
To make microwave fudge, simply put all the ingredients into a microwavable bowl and heat it at 80% power in 30 second intervals. Stir the fudge in between each 30 second burst and stop heating it when everything has come together and melted.
You can also make fudge in a slow cooker. To find out how, check out our slow cooker fudge recipe.
How long does fudge keep?
This fudge will keep for a week or two in an airtight container, which makes it perfect for homemade gifts for friends and family.
If you want to keep the fudge for longer, you can freeze it for a few months. Simply wrap it well in cling film or tin foil and pop it in a freezer bag or airtight container. Thaw it at room temperature overnight before serving.
What chocolate should I use?
Use the best white chocolate you can afford. With a simple fudge like this, it’s only going to be as good as your ingredients. The same goes for the condensed milk. We’ve used supermarket own brand condensed milk as well as Carnation condensed milk to make fudge and you can certainly taste the difference.

Ingredients
500g white chocolate
397g tin condensed milk
150g Oreos
How to make Oreo fudge
Line a square 8 inch (20cm) baking tin with baking or parchment paper. We find the easiest way to do this is to cut a long strip and place it one way in the tin, then do the same in the other direction. Leave a bit of baking paper overhanging to help you remove the fudge from the tin later.
Melt the fudge ingredients together
Start by getting your kids to weigh the chocolate, then break it up and add it to a heatproof bowl.
Pour in the whole tin of condensed milk.
Melt the chocolate and condensed milk together in a double boiler (ie put your bowl on top of a bowl of simmering water).
Keep stirring it with a wooden spoon or spatula until the chocolate has melted and it comes together in a nice smooth consistency. If you have older children that are safe around a cooker, they may be able to help to stir the fudge. I wouldn’t recommend little kids helping with this step as it can get a bit hot and you need to be particularly careful touching the bowl.
Make the Oreo fudge
While the fudge is melting, get your kids to measure out Oreos and break them into small pieces. Either bash them with the end of a rolling pin, or just break them up with your hands. You can break some pieces quite small, but make sure you leave some larger chunks of biscuits too.
Keep some of the crushed Oreos back to add to the top of the fudge (or if you have spare ones, you can just add extra.) Remove the fudge from the heat and add the Oreo pieces. Stir it all in so they are mixed through.
Pour the fudge mixture into your prepared baking tin. Using the back of a spoon or your spatula, get your kids to smooth the top and press it down into the corners.
Get your kids to sprinkle the remaining Oreos on top. Press them in gently so they stick to the fudge.
Leave the fudge to set
Cover your fudge in cling film/glad wrap or tin foil and leave it somewhere cool to set. Once it has cooled down a enough you can put it in the fridge for a few hours to set completely.
When the fudge has firmed up, cut it into small pieces with a sharp knife (this is a job for grown ups).
Serve and enjoy!
