Mini Christmas tree pizzas are the perfect snack for the holiday season. With a ready made pizza dough, they couldn’t be easier or quicker to make. And, as always with homemade pizzas you and your kids can choose your own toppings so they’re sure to be a hit with all the family.
I love making pizzas with my kids. They don’t tend to like shop bought ones very much (they’re too fussy), so making our own gives them the chance to make them exactly as they like them. Using a Christmas cookie cutter was such a simple trick, but I love how fun and festive they look.
They would be ideal as an appetiser or snack at any party over the holiday season, or just as a festive family lunch.
How can kids help to make mini Christmas tree pizzas?
This is one of our easiest Christmas recipes so its perfect for kids to get involved in. If you use ready made pizza dough your kids can take charge of almost all of it.
Kids can roll out the dough and cut out the Christmas tree bases. Once your bases are made your kids can help add their own toppings, making their mini pizzas exactly as they want them.
Do I have to use ready made pizza dough?
We’ve used ready made pizza dough because it’s so easy and saves a lot of time. If you prefer you can make your own pizza dough. For an easy pizza dough recipe check out our easy homemade pizza dough.
Alternatively you could make these Christmas tree pizzas with a puff pastry base.
How long do mini pizzas keep?
I think these are best enjoyed as soon as you’ve made them, but they will keep for a day covered in the fridge. You can reheat them for a few minutes in the oven or enjoy them cold the next day.

Ingredients
1 portion of pizza dough
2 tablespoons sun-dried tomato paste
100g grated mozzarella
peperoni / sweetcorn / peppers / cherry tomatoes (or any other toppings)
How to make mini Christmas tree pizzas
Preheat your oven to 200C / 180C Fan / 390F and line two baking sheets with greaseproof / baking paper.
Prepare the pizza dough
Roll out the pizza dough so it is approximately 5mm thick. We used ready rolled pizza dough so this was an easy job for us to do. If you are also using ready rolled pizza dough, peel any backing paper off before putting it on a lightly floured work surface.
Cut out the Christmas tree pizza bases
Using a Christmas tree shaped cookie cutter, get your kids to cut out Christmas tree bases and put them on the prepared baking trays. Re-roll any pizza dough scraps and cut out some more bases until you’ve used up all the dough.
If you don’t have a Christmas tree cutter you could make your own template and cut around that or to make life easier, make one large Christmas tree out of the dough.
Add the toppings
Get your kids to spread a little sun dried tomato paste onto each of the bases with the back of a tea spoon. Add any toppings you like: sweetcorn for baubles/lights, strips of pepper for tinsel etc, and top everything in grated mozzarella.
Bake the Christmas tree pizzas
Bake the mini pizzas in the oven for 8-10 minutes. They’re ready when the bases have crisped up and the cheese has melted and turned a nice golden colour.
Remove them from the oven and put them on a serving plate. Serve and enjoy.
