Berry frozen yogurt

Berry frozen yogurt is the perfect easy dessert if you want a healthier alternative to ice cream. With only three ingredients, it’s a simple dish that you and your kids can rustle up in minutes.
If you want a refreshing, frozen dessert, but something healthier and with less sugar than ice cream, then this berry frozen yogurt is the dish for you.
With only honey for sweetness, it’s also a great alternative to some of those ‘kids yogurts/fromage frais’, that are secretly full of sugar.
My kids love this and it feels like a real treat even though it’s healthier than some of their usual puddings.
How can kids help to make berry frozen yogurt?
This is such a simple homemade dessert your kids can help you make it in a few minutes.
Your kids can take charge or measuring out thte fruit and yogurt. There’s no need to be too accurate, just let them measure out a few cups and pop them in your blender.
By far my kid’s favourite job with making the frozen yogurt was to blend it all together!
What fruit do you use in berry frozen yogurt?
You can use any berries you like. We used some frozen fruit we had in our freezer (raspberries and blueberries), but you could use your favourite berries. Alternatively, just get a packet of frozen mixed berries from the supermarket and throw that in.
Can I give honey to my children?
You should avoid giving honey to children that are under 1. Honey can contain a toxic bacteria which can lead to infant botulism, a series illness.

Ingredients
2 cups (200g) of frozen berries
1 cup (250ml) Natural/Greek yogurt
2 tbsp honey
How to make berry frozen yogurt
Add everything to a blender
Get your kids to measure the fruit, either in a measuring cup or into a bowl on some scales. Don’t worry about being too accurate. A few grams here or there will make no difference.
Add the fruit to a blender or hand blender.
Measure out the yogurt and add it to your blender.
Finally, get your kids to add two tablespoons of honey. We used a blunt knife to level off the top of spoon before we added it.
Blend everything together
Get your kids to blend everything together so it is nicely mixed and smooth. It will take a few minutes to make it nice and smooth.
You might need to scrape down the edges with a spatula a few times to make sure everything is getting mixed in.
Freeze the berry yogurt
Pour the berry yogurt into a tub or tin, or even into some ice lolly moulds. Cover it, then pop it in the freezer.
Freeze it for a few hours until it has set.
Remove the frozen yogurt about 20 minutes before you want to serve it to make sure it’s not too hard and easier to scoop. Serve and enjoy.
