  • 115 g (½ cup) butter
  • 75 g (⅓ cup) soft brown sugar
  • 75 g (¾ cup) porridge/rolled oats

Equipment

  • Digital scales
  • Mixing bowl
  • Food processor
  • Measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • Pie dish

Method

Preheat your oven to 190C / 170C Fan / 375F and grease a large oven proof dish
    PREPARE THE STRAWBERRIES
    1. Hull and cut any large strawberries into pieces. You can leave smaller strawberries whole.
    2. Pop the strawberries in a bowl and add the granulated sugar, cornflour and vanilla then mix them through. Set aside for now.
    MAKE THE CRUMBLE TOPPING
    1. Measure out the flour and the butter. Cut the butter into small pieces, or if it's easier you can grate it. Add the butter and flour to a mixing bowl or food processor.
Using your finger tips, rub the butter and flour together until the mixture resembles rough breadcrumbs.
If you have a food processor, you can use that to make the breadcrumb mixture. Simply pulse the butter and flour together until it's just ready.
    2. Measure the sugar and porridge oats and add them to your mixing bowl. Mix them in with a spoon.
    MAKE THE STRAWBERRY CRUMBLE
    1. Tip the prepared strawberries into your oven proof dish. Spread it around so they are nice and evenly spread over the base of the dish.
    2. Now, add the crumble topping on top with a large spoon. Make sure they add it so you have even coverage over the top of the fruit.
    BAKE THE STRAWBERRY CRUMBLE
    1. Bake the crumble for about 40 minutes. It's ready when the crumble topping has turned a nice golden brown colour and the strawberries should be bubbling through in places.
    2. Serve and enjoy.
