Ingredients

  • 2 x 420g tins of sliced peaches
  • 100 g (⅓ cup + 2 tbsp) plain / all-purpose flour
  • 115 g (½ cup) butter
  • 75 g (⅓ cup + 2 tbsp) soft brown sugar
  • 50 g (½ cup) rolled oats
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Equipment

  • Digital scales
  • Mixing bowl
  • Food processor
  • Measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • Pie dish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C / 170C Fan / 350F
Make the crumble topping
  1. Measure out the flour and butter. Chop the butter into small pieces, then pop them into a large mixing bowl.
Rub the butter and flour together with your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Measure the sugar, oats and cinnamon out and then add them to your bowl. Mix them in.
Make the peach crumble
  1. Drain the peaches then arrange them in the base of an oven proof dish. We used a round 28cm pie dish but this would also work in a smaller, deeper dish.
Make sure you have an even layer of peaches.
  2. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the peaches, covering them all.
Bake the peach crumble
  1. Bake the crumble for approximately 45 minutes. It's ready when the crumble topping has browned nicely and the peaches underneath are bubbling.
  2. Remove the crumble from the oven, and serve with custard or ice cream.
