Ingredients

  • 75 g (3/4 cup) self raising flour
  • 75 g (2/4 cup) porridge oats
  • 7g g (1/3 cup) demerara sugar
  • 100 g (7 tbsp) butter
  • 1 banana
  • 25g M&Ms

Method

Preheat the oven to 180C/160C Fan / Gas 4 / 350F and prepare a small baking tin.
  1. Grease a tin with butter. Either a small 6 inch square baking tray or, we used a small loaf tin. Line it with greaseproof paper.
Make the crumb
  1. Measure the flour, oats, and sugar and add it to a large bowl. Measure the butter and cut it into little pieces before adding to your bowl. Rub the butter in using your fingertips until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
  2. Add half the mixture to the base of your baking tray and press it down with the back of a spoon.
Add the bananas
  1. Slice the bananas and then arrange them over your crumb base.
  2. Sprinkle the rest of the crumble on top and press it down.
Add the M&Ms
  1. Sprinkle the M&Ms over the top of your banana crumble. If you don’t have M&Ms chocolate chips will work just as well.
Bake the banana and M&M slice
  1. Bake the banana and M&M slice into the oven for around 25 minutes. It’s ready when the top is golden brown.
  2. Leave it to cool in the tin then slice into bars and serve.
