- 250 g (2 cups) plain / all-purpose flour
- 150 g (1 stick) butter, softened
- 100 g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 180C/ 160 Fan / 350F and line a baking tray with baking paper
Rub the flour and butter together
Add the remaining ingredients
Make the firework biscuits
Sprinkle a little flour down on your worksurface. Roll the dough out until it is around 5mm thick.
Using a star cutter, cut the biscuits out and lay them down on your prepared baking tray.
Bake the firework biscuits in the oven for around 8 minutes. They're ready when they're starting to turn golden at the edges.
