  • 75 g (3/4 cup) self raising flour
  • 75 g (2/4 cup) porridge oats
  • 7g g (1/3 cup) demerara sugar
  • 100 g (7 tbsp) butter
  • 1 banana
  • 25g M&Ms

Preheat the oven to 180C/160C Fan / Gas 4 / 350F and prepare a small baking tin.

  • Grease a tin with butter. Either a small 6 inch square baking tray or, we used a small loaf tin. Line it with greaseproof paper.

Make the crumb

  • Measure the flour, oats, and sugar and add it to a large bowl. Measure the butter and cut it into little pieces before adding to your bowl. Rub the butter in using your fingertips until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
  • Add half the mixture to the base of your baking tray and press it down with the back of a spoon.

Add the bananas

  • Slice the bananas and then arrange them over your crumb base.
  • Sprinkle the rest of the crumble on top and press it down.

Add the M&Ms

  • Sprinkle the M&Ms over the top of your banana crumble. If you don’t have M&Ms chocolate chips will work just as well.

Bake the banana and M&M slice

  • Bake the banana and M&M slice into the oven for around 25 minutes. It’s ready when the top is golden brown.
  • Leave it to cool in the tin then slice into bars and serve.
