  • 1 packet ready to roll puff pastry
  • 2 tbsp Nutella/hazelnut chocolate spread
  • 1 egg

  • Preheat your oven to 190C/180C Fan/350F and line a baking tray with baking paper

Roll out the puff pastry

  • Roll the pastry out into a large rectangle. Unless you're making a large tree with two sheets of pastry, cut the sheet in half. Cut a large triangle/Christmas tree with the widest part as wide as your pastry.

Add the chocolate spread

  • Spread the Nutella over the Christmas tree using the back of a spoon.

Make the Nutella Christmas tree

  • Lay the second sheet of pastry over the top of the first. Feel for the edge of the bottom sheet and gently press down to seel them together. Using a sharp knife, cut out the top sheet to match the bottom sheet.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut lines in your tree about one cm apart. Once all the branches are cut, twist each one away from you a few times and press it down on your baking tray.
  • Brush the egg over the top of your Christmas tree

Bake your Nutella Christmas tree

  • Bake your tree in the oven for 12-15 minutes. It's ready when it's turned golden brown and the pastry is nice and crispy.
